Non-Woven Bag Size Guide for Indian Businesses
A bag size should be selected by measuring the intended contents and testing the finished bag. A business category alone does not determine the correct dimensions.
How Dimensions Are Stated
Suppliers may state width × height, and gusseted bags add depth. Ask whether dimensions are internal or external, where measurements are taken, and which tolerance applies.
Measure the Intended Contents
- Width, height, depth, and orientation of each packed item
- Combined weight and distribution inside the bag
- Required clearance for filling, closing, and handover
- Edges, moisture, temperature, and transport conditions
- Whether the contents are rigid, flexible, boxed, or irregular
Check the Complete Construction
Size alone does not establish capacity or performance. Record material, GSM, seams, handles, reinforcement, gussets, closures, printing, packing, and tolerances.
Evaluate Candidate Sizes
Commonly quoted dimensions such as 10 × 14, 12 × 16, 14 × 19, or 16 × 20 inches are not universal standards or use recommendations. Confirm current availability and fill a sample with the intended contents.
Approve a Filled Sample
- Place the complete packed contents in the bag.
- Check clearance, orientation, handle access, and closure.
- Test lifting, carrying, stacking, and handover.
- Record the accepted dimensions, construction, and sample reference.
Printing and Artwork
Confirm the printable area after seams, handles, folds, and gussets. Approve the artwork, proof, colour tolerance, and sample for the actual size.
Quote and Regulation
Compare current quotations for the same complete specification, quantity, printing, packing, taxes, and destination. Verify current requirements for the exact PP non-woven product and location.
